Here are a few of the events scheduled for Fall 2011.

The website hasn't had many updates, but the campus ministry has still been busy. Lisa is preparing for the fall semester, but we wanted to take the time to update everyone on some of the things that took place in fall and spring. You can view or download the entire newsletter here.

CWF once again did a fall mission trip with Winthrop Wesley Foundation at the United Methodist Relief Center.  Some of the pictures from the event are below.  While at the Volunteer House I was able to put together two podcasts with the students and Dan Nesbitt from UMRC.  Take a moment to listen.  The students talk about their reason for attending Wesley and why they attended the retreat.  Dan Nesbitt describes UMRC's mission to provide housing repairs in the rural areas of the low country.

We welcome all the new students we will meet this Fall, and we look forward to seeing many of you for another semester.  Come join the Wesley Foundation for another year of food and fellowship.  Check out our calendar for times and locations of events.  The Fall retreat is already planned for the weekend of October 1st so put that on your schedules now.  Let's have a great semester together.      

The Wesley Foundation is the United Methodist church's answer to campus ministries.  In May of this year, United Methodist students got together in Columbia with Matt Brodie (Conference Director of Communications) to put together a video describing 'Wesley' (Foundations)  in their own words.

It's your chance to meet other United Methodist students in South Carolina.  The retreat is being held at Camp Bob Cooper in Summerton, SC on February 26-28.  Get more information and the registration form at http://umcsc.net/ministries/hecm/?p=196

SIM (Students in Mission) is designed for young adults between the ages of 18-24 who have completed at least one year in an institution of higher education. It is an opportunity to serve as a missionary for the summer in authentic mission sites within the state of South Carolina. SIM is a meaningful experience in intentional Christian living, faith in action and spiritual formation. Each missioner who is selected will receive a $2,000 stopend from the SC Conference of the UMC upon completion of the program at the end of thes ummer. Housing, meals and incidental expenses will be furnished by the mission site.

Missioner Applications are due: February 26, 2010
Notice of Assigned Mission sites will be mailed: March 10, 2010
Missioner Covenants are due: March 31, 2010
Contracts between Missioner and Mission Site are due: May 15, 2010
Optional Site Orientation will be: June 7-9, 2010
Orientation will take place: June 10-12, 2010
Mission Work: June 13-July 30, 2010
Cluster Meetings: June 26 and July 10, 2010
Final Evaluation: July 31, 2010
