Calendar of Events

Besides our normal events, Wesley Foundation has a number of retreats and other events. Be sure to check the calendar to keep up to date with events and meetings throughout the school year!

Fun and Fellowship

Friday Night Dinners

The Friday Night Dinners are fellowship events that allow students from all of our campuses to come together and enjoy a meal and each other's company. These dinners occur a couple of times throughout each semester at the Meadows' house. They occasionally include a bonfire, a friendly game of corn hole, or a movie. But, they always include a meal better than what can be found in the dining hall, every college student's favorite part.

 Fall Retreat

Every Fall semester we take a group of students on a retreat. The past few years we have gone somewhere upstate where we can get away and focus on growing in Christ and as his disciples. This like the other events we hold, is an opportunity for fellowship for students from all campuses and is an aid in building relationships between the campuses.

The 2107 Fall Retreat will be to the Bon Clarken camp in Flat Rock, North Carolina. The date can be found on the CWF calendar (link above).

Spring Retreat

The retreat int the spring semester is similar to the Fall Retreat in that we go to the mountains and get away from the craziness of everyday student-life. What makes this trip unique is that it is not just a Charleston Wesley Foundation Retreat weekend; it is a state-wide Wesley Foundation retreat weekend. Since participating in this event with the Wesley groups from other campuses throughout the state, it has been dubbed the Wesley Winter Weekend. (Although it is our Spring semester retreat, it is usually still held in the winter season.)

Some of the details of the Spring 2018 retreat are still to be determined, however you can find the dates in the CWF calendar (link above).

Mission Weekends

Each Semester we take a weekend to help those in our community who are in desperate need. We have repaired roofs, delivered firewood, fixed walls, built decks, and more. We also spend this weekend each semester volunteering at some local churches.

The past three summers the Charleston Wesley Foundation has sent a team to Ecuador. During the ten day trip we help local Christian communities in Ecuador,  over the past three years we have served the churches in Pijal, Llano Grande, Misahualli, El Prado, and Gonzales Suarez. There we help them in the construction of their church facilities, teach Vacation Bible School, and participate in several other local ministries. All of this work we do alongside the churches, not for them. This allows us to build strong relationships with the members of each of these churches and their communities.

This amazing opportunity costs a total of $2,000. However, this cost is easily attainable with the fundraising strategy given to interested students. Donations toward this project are also greatly appreciated. The pictures below are a few of the different sights we were able to see everyday during our time in Ecuador, it is truly a place where we can see God's goodness at work and his wonderful creation in a different light.

YES, we are on social media!  We have a Facebook Page (Charleston Wesley), an Instagram, and a Twitter account to try and get the word out about upcoming events and give students a short, daily devotion.
