OUR ASSOCIATE CAMPUS PASTOR
Tasha James is originally from Spartanburg, SC. She graduated with a dual Bachelor of Arts in Business and Sports Management from Erskine college. Tasha recently graduated from Liberty University with a Master of Divinity Degree in May 2015 and received her ordination through the Evangelical Church Alliance. Her ministry and passion has consisted of international sports ministry, coaching at the high school and collegiate levels, as well as swerving as a college ministry leader at her previous home church Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Her greatest desire is to equip and empower fellow believers in the ministry so that the Great Commission of preaching the good news and making disciples throughout the world is being fulfilled. She is tremendously excited about the kingdom work that is already taking place through the outreach and discipleship efforts of Pastor Aaron Meadows and the Charleston Wesley Foundation. Tasha looks froward to partnering with the local church serving the students of Charleston Southern University, the Citadel, College of Charleston, MUSC, and Trident College as well as seeing the ministry grow on each campus.
Born in Graham, NC but now living in Chester, SC David is a junior at the Citadel, and he serves his school with passion and pride. He is an active participant in the Citadel Gospel Choir, and he brings that musical talent and worshipful perspective to our meetings each and every week. David describes himself as "a follower of Christ who strives to exemplify Christ-like actions in my thoughts, words, and deeds".
Fun Fact: David used to work at Carowinds as a lifeguard!
College of charleston
A South Carolina native, Alexis (Aly) Lain lives in downtown Charleston and attends the College of Charleston, as a junior, where she is studying Secondary Education and English, as well as minoring in Religious Studies. Aly is an active member of her sorority, where she serves as the Philanthropy and Service chair. She is also serves as a cohort chair in the SC Teaching Fellows, a fellowship program for South Carolina gradates pursuing careers in education. You can usually find her in the sunshine with her nose in a book, or out exploring and adventuring in the low country.
Fun Fact: Aly peaked while standing on the front of a whitewater raft on the Napo River in the Amazon jungle. She will never be that cool again.
Jonathan (Jon) Wilson was born in Abbeyville, SC and found his way to the Holy City when he started attending Charleston Southern University. Jon is a Junior English and History major at CSU. Jon plans on using his degrees to become a novelist (he's even working on his first novel!). Along with serving as a Charleston Wesley Foundation intern this year, Jon is working on the CSU campus as a tutor in the Writing Lab.
Fun Fact: "I love watching television shows. Not just when they come on the air but buying the show on DVD and rewatching it over and over again. That being said, I’ve watched Lost about six or seven times."
As the Charleston Wesley Foundation has grown over the past years, we are now welcoming two graduate interns to explore all that vocational ministry entails.
Hannah Medford is an experienced Charleston Wesley Foundation intern, she has served as the CSU intern the past two years. "I am excited to get the experience of an internship that goes deeper into what vocational ministry looks like," she says of the year ahead. Hannah is finishing up her degree in Student Ministries at Charleston Southern this year; she will graduate this December.
Fun Fact: A wild Friday night for Hannah is spending the evening crocheting with friends and watching Horror movies.
With the charge of caring for the spiritual needs of students at five campuses, CWF needs the support of dedicated volunteers. Several local churches volunteer to provide food for some of the weekly meetings. We need continued help in that area. We also are looking for volunteers to help in various ways. If you have any desire to serve the young students of any of these campuses in a physical way, we would love to hear from you (feel free to email Aaron). We would love more volunteers at any of the events or weekly meetings!
Board of Directors
Our Board of Directors is made up of local pastors and other interested individuals who desire to serve the college students through the Charleston Wesley Foundation. The group supports CWF by meeting quarterly and making sure that our ministry is faithfully serving the campuses under its care. They discuss the past and future events, any pressing issues, and help organize fundraisers. Our board is always needing fresh members ready to serve. Contact Aaron if you are interested serving on the board of directors.
